Friends of Burgoyne
News of events taking place during the 2013-14 academic year will be posted in due course.

The current Friends of Burgoyne (FOB) Committee members are:

As you can see, we only have a small committee and many of our members will be leaving at the end of this school year. If you would like to join the committee, please contact the school office with your details.
We would also like to build a team of people who are able to help at FOB events. If you feel you can help us in any way (from setting up tables for an event, serving behind the bar or even just providing raffle prizes) again, please contact us via the school office.
Friends of Burgoyne Objectives
The main purpose of FOB is to provide financial support for the school to better provide for our children’s' education. In addition, its members also help support the school by offering help at concerts, productions, sports days and social events. We aim to raise as much money as possible to enhance the school, while having fun at the same time!
Every parent, guardian or carer of a student at the school is automatically a member of FOB, as well as the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. Any member is very welcome to attend meetings and help with any of our activities at any time.
There is perhaps a common misconception that the odd cake stall and raffle might be all that's needed to provide the school with a bit of extra money to fund 'small extras' within the school curriculum. This is not the case! In fact, many may be surprised to learn that the financial support from FOB is vital to the facilities of the school.
We hold informal meetings about 6-8 times per year and the meetings last about one hour.
If you would like to help make a difference to your child's school and join FOB, please let the school office know or leave a note addressed to FOB with the reception. We would love to have you on the team - whether it's just to help out at the odd event or get more involved.
During the school year 2011/12, money raised went towards:
- Prizes for children
- Year 6 Drama Workshop
- Leaving presents for Year 8
- We also hope to provide some playground equipment.
During the school year 2010/11, the following events were organised:
- Three Discos
- Easter Raffle
- Non-Uniform Day
- BBQ Bash
The money raised from these events went towards buying more books for the school library, Ruler/Calculators, Drama workshop for year 6, Parker Pens for Year 8 and prizes for children.
